By 1953, Betty Brosmer decided to move back to her home state of California. She set her sights on Hollywood this time. She had made such a big name for herself in New York that her departure was even mentioned in the ‘Celebrity’ column by Walter Winchell. When she was in California, she did not have a hard time looking for freelance modeling gigs in the commercial and fashion industries. She also went to UCLA to take up psychology. A glamour photographer by the name of Keither Bernard hired her as well. They worked together until the end of that decade, and she earned a fortune from their partnership.

Doing Editorial Work
Over the course of the late ‘50s, her publication work included a number of editorials. Back then, she was the top-paid model in the country and even appeared in magazines like Photoplay, Modern Man, and Rogue. Betty Brosmer made history as the first model to own the rights to her pictures. Every time her photo was published, she received part of the profit. In those days, she appeared in nearly all the big publications that catered to men. Her style was also very influential in the fashion and modeling world.
