Joe told the police what had been happening. With every word that he said, he could see they were getting more and more incredulous. However, they could see he was shaken. After they found nothing, they reassured him that if something happened, he could call again. Nevertheless, they still insinuated that their time had been wasted. Feeling foolish, Joe let them out. The police disappeared into the night, leaving him alone again.

Joe decided to take things into his own hands. After bringing his dog inside, he made sure to lock the doggie door securely. For a few nights, there was no incident, so Joe was starting to feel somewhat at ease in his own home again. However, he knew there was still a real threat and the warning was serious. Joe thought that he had found the weak spot in his house and secured it. The stranger must have crawled through the doggy door. Having bolted it shut, Joe had no longer seen any signs of the intruder. However, he knew that the police had to see the tapes.
