Luring Him Out
After unlocking the front door, he stepped outside and looked for his cocoa. However, it had been moved. It was no longer on the ledge next to the door and was six feet away, illuminated by the porch light. Every hair on Joe’s neck stood on end and his heart sank. He knew that all of the signs pointed to “danger.” He wondered who was watching him and why they were attempting to lure him out.

Joe quickly slammed the door behind him and made sure to lock it. His senses were all on overdrive. He could feel that the adrenaline was rushing through his veins, and then he heard some heavy footsteps. He looked though the peephole to see what or who had made that noise.
