Michigan
Detroit has consistently classified as a popular manufacturing center. The Automotive Big Three is still based in the state, but more workers are now employed in the transportation, trade, health, and education sectors. Easy access by the city to Lake Erie also makes it a national hub for shipping. When it comes to the largest employers, Michigan State and the University of Michigan rank No. 2 and No. 3 on the state. The two are known to be prominent research institutions, and the University of Michigan holds the country’s sixth-largest academic library.
Utah
In 2017, Utah had the second-highest GDP growth among the states and ranks among the top five states that are close to start-up companies. Goldman Sachs called it “Wall Street of the West,” and in the future, it is expected that the fields of professional and business services, health care, and construction will increase. Big construction projects like the renovation of the Salt Lake City International Airport and an Amazon fulfillment centre are set to add even more profit to the state. Most public, charter, and private K-12 schools are now in the education system.
