In 1983, Donald Trump bought the New Jersey Generals of the United States Football League. In this same year, he managed to bring on Herschel Walker, a Heisman Trophy winner, to the USFL. A few years after, he drafted Boston College QB, Doug Flutie. Unfortunately, the USFL had to fold as it lost an antitrust case against the National Football League in 1986. Thus, Trump’s idea of changing the USFL season did the league no favors.
