The Superhero Costume In Superman Returns

Fans did not love the Superman outfit worn by Brandon Routh when photos of it first came out. Some claimed that the “S” did not feel right, while others complained about the height of the neckline. The crotch was also another point of contention. There is a rumor saying that his… anatomy is so big that they had to use CGI to make it look smaller. Prior to the release of the movie, the costume designer told Newsweek more about this specific part of the process. “Was it too big? Was it not big enough? Was it too pointy? Too round? It was somebody’s job for about a month just working on codpiece shapes,” shared Louise Mingenbach. The director denied that they had to use CGI to reduce its size, however. Who knows? Maybe it was the actor who spread the rumors himself…

The Nefertiti Outfit In The Ten Commandments

The Ten Commandments earned a ton of critical acclaim when it first came out in 1956. The costumes had been a part of it. They were gorgeous, and we especially like the blue gown that Anne Baxter put on as Queen Nefertiti. Even so, it was not historically accurate at all. For one thing, there was no way that they could have used that specific shade of blue since it did not exist yet in 1350 B.C. There was the matter of what she wore beneath the dress as well. While censorship was rampant back then, you could see the outline of her breasts in a couple of scenes. No one knows if it was done on purpose.
