Brad Pitt also made history by being the first man to appear in a promotion for the iconic perfume. While the company paid $7 million to get him on board, this move proved to be a success. The actor helped raise awareness of the brand among men, which cemented that the brand is for men as much as it is for women. We are sure that Chanel felt happy about spending all that money! The photo showed her in a Cambodian rural area, which led to plenty of controversies. People were unimpressed by the way the company used a poor country to shine a light on its luxurious handbags. Aside from that, however, the advertisement was a huge success. After featuring Angelina Jolie in the advertisement, the brand saw a spike in its sales. The actress also decided to donate some of the money she was paid to charity. We are glad to hear that she was not intent on keeping the entire paycheck all to herself.
