Elita Loresca

Born on June 28, 1977, Elita A. Loresca is a Filipino-American newscaster. She previously reported KGET-TV, the Bakersfield, California NBC affiliate, WSVN 7 in Miami, Florida, and KNBC in Los Angeles, California. At present, Loresca works on KTRK-TV in Houston, Texas. Loresca started her career as a news associate at KCBS-TV in Los Angeles, where she was in charge of assembling scripts and operating teleprompters during the newscasts. She was the noon weather anchor and assignment editor for KGET-TV at Bakersfield, California, from January 2001 until August 2002. She moved to KGPE-TV in Fresno, California, in 2002, where she was the morning and afternoon, weather anchor. She covered two of the most destructive seasons in the recent history of hurricanes. She began predicting the 2004 hurricane season with Hurricane Frances starting from her first day at WSVN Miami in 2004. After Hurricane Katrina, Hurricane Rita, and Hurricane Wilma in 2005, she contributed reports for her station from the National Hurricane Center.

Jackie Guerrido

Jackie Guerrido was born September 24, 1972, is a Puerto Rican television weather forecaster and journalist for Primer Impacto on Univision. Born and raised in San Juan, Puerto Rico, Guerrido received primary and secondary education. Jackie moved with her family to the Bronx after her high school graduation. She seemed interested in other work before Guerrido became involved in the media. On WSKQ’s morning program, El Vacilon de la Mañana (“Good Times in the Morning”), Guerrido was offered a role by a producer who heard her voice-over. She soon got, and she accepted an offer from WRMA(106.7) in Miami. She was finally granted a music program of her own at WRTO (98.3). She also secured a tv job as a traffic reporter for WSCV, Telemundo affiliate of Miami, reporting concurrently on both the radio and television. Univision notified Guerrido and made her an offer to become the meteorologist for Al Amanecer de Noticias 23 (“Morning News at Channel 23”), the flagship show for Univision WLTV on that morning. At the University of Miami, she studied Meteorology. In 2004, Guerrido was named the “Good Will Ambassador” of the Puerto Rican Day Parade celebrated in New York City.
