Peggy began to pay her respects to her late spouse by returning to the city on a yearly basis as soon as the story became public. Peggy even goes so far as to travel out into the woods to the crash site of the jet. Guy Surleau is accompanied by Peggy to each of these trips because he was the only witness to the horrible event and is the only one who remembers the details. Guy is burdened with regret for being unable to assist Billie in any other manner. Peggy, on the other hand, has told him during their conversations that she is simply delighted that her husband has a neighborly friend.
