The next morning, Daniel watches Muffins stroll around the house while eating toast and cereal. His two girls were playing with the cat while watching some TV, with the youngest, Ella, scooping up Muffins and cuddling with him. Daniel felt a lump in his throat, the image of last night persisting well in the day.
