Although Representative Pete Feltham of the Alexandria Police Union applauded the restaurant because of its coordination and quick apology, the damage was already done when the restaurant hurried outside of the restaurant to place banners trying to support law enforcement officers. He incorporated that he believed that Baker “handled the situation perfectly” — instead of intensifying the clash, he disconnected. He however, said that he had been shocked that in Alexandria, an event like this occurred because the police force usually has a fantastic relation with citizens and local businesses.

Yet, none of Feltham’s statements did something to soothe the public’s outrage. On the restaurant’s Facebook page, thousands of comments have been left, grumpily notifying them that they were starting to be boycotted completely and promoting other customers to do so as well. There was even discussion among people on social media about stealing from the restaurant after the incident. Baker decided to make his stance on this simple, nevertheless.
