Twelve Monkeys
We will be the first person to admit that the plot of this movie is very confusing. However, we added Twelve Monkeys to the list for a good reason. We learn that the man Cole saw getting killed was has adult self in the future. Movies that deal with time travel are always pretty wonky like that.

Who would have thought that the character in the title of this movie is not even really a wizard? He is a man behind a curtain capitalizing on the naivety of the munchkins. This is a great way to use fiction to show how fame is not only created but also the way that it is corrupted.
