Wonder – or Stevland Hardaway Judkins, as he was known at the time – was born six weeks early in Saginaw, Michigan, in 1950. He was placed in an incubator as a baby for life support. Wonder, however, had lost his ability to see by the time he was seven weeks old. And, unfortunately, it was a case of doctors making a grave error.
