We do not recommend collecting Beanie Babies if you are in it for the money. It is true that these toys take us on a walk down memory lane, but they are not good for anything else. They will also turn any bedroom into a colorful and crazy mess. In 1995, people started to hoard these toys because there was talk of high resale value. Collectors tried to cash in on this rumor, which had been well-founded. Some got lucky and turned a profit in the plush toy section of eBay. Unfortunately, the mania was short-lived.
