Hot Wheels: Prices Vary
Thousands of rare discoveries can be worth thousands of dollars, even though most of these palm-sized cars sell for only a few dollars. The “Volkswagen Beach Bomb” prototype from 1969 is one of the most valuable, with surfboards hanging out the back window and wheels that made it too big for Mattel’s race tracks. It has never been widely produced, which adds to its value to collectors, who estimate it to be worth around $125,000.

This “immaculate” 1938 edition was put up for sale in 2014, and it became the most expensive comic ever sold on eBay. What’s the big deal you ask? This is the comic that first introduced Superman to the world, and there are only about 50 copies available worldwide.
