This was not the case for Thomas Kinkade, who was also known as the “Painter of Light.” The reverse was true for him. The artist had such a huge stock of personal paintings that people stopped paying a certain amount of money for his pieces. By the time he died in 2012, about five percent of American homes had a Kinkade.
