Jones told KPIX 5 that she was concerned after seeing the data on her profile. The mother of four then stated that all she wanted to know her genetic composition. Jones had never deemed that her DNA could be used to connect her with other Ancestry DNA customers.

On the other hand, Jones didn’t find it to be such a big deal in the end. After all, the linked DNA was derived from her own children, with whom she knew she shared some genetic information. However, Dr. Ballard cautioned that other users should be prepared for anything if they use such a provider.
