Mark could not believe what he just heard. He pressed the phone to his ear, wondering if he heard incorrectly. Maybe there was a connection problem that was making the signal weird. However, the vet repeated what he said. In the end, he found out that those puppies were not really dogs. But what else could they possibly be if they were not dogs?

Mark had been listening attentively when the vet told him they were “red foxes.” He could not believe it. They had been so sure that it was a litter of puppies! Not once did it occur to them that it was a troop of foxes instead. Despite the name of these animals, they are usually a darker shade at birth.
