In the early 2000s, Costco sold the Cuddle with Me doll for a brief period of time. It landed in hot water with a specific doll, which was the only African-American model in the lineup. It had a stuffed monkey, as well as a headband that said, “lil’ monkey.” People could not believe that the company would be this racially insensitive.
