The Yorkshire police said, “Those responsible also put themselves in danger and have created a potential hazard for other visitors to Brimham Rocks.” It is unlikely that these teenagers considered anyone’s safety when they were messing with the rock. This shouldn’t come as a surprise, though. Acts like this are rarely well thought out and when culprits are caught, there is usually a lot of finger-pointing. The Yorkshire police added, “It might have been fun for some people. Actually, it is just completely pointless and needless.” What do you think? Is this merely a group of teens having fun in their free time, or is it vandalism? Either way, they still destroyed something that took nature at least 10,000 years to create. That should be reason enough for them to feel guilty about what they did. What’s more, their action affected others.
