Peter Vidmar – Now
When he retired from his sports career, Peter Vidmar went on to serve as the U.S. Gymnastics Board of Directors chairman from 2008 to 2015. The next step was to be the mission president of the Church of Christ of Latter-day Saints in the land down under. He and Donna, his wife, have a total of five kids.
Mary Lou Retton – Then
In 1984, Mary Lou Retton blew everyone away with her historic performance at the Olympic Games in Los Angeles. It turned her into a global superstar! She also made history as the first American to bring home an individual gold medal in the sport. This was done by achieving a 10 in two events: floor and vault. In 1985, she secured the American Cup in Indianapolis. As if those things were not impressive enough, she was also the first gymnast to make it to the U.S. Olympic Hall of Fame.
