Barney Kessel
American jazz guitarist Barney Kessel was born in Muskogee, Oklahoma. He was a member of numerous well-known jazz ensembles and a “first call” guitarist for recording sessions for studio, cinema, and television. He was particularly well-known for his understanding of chords and inversions as well as chord-based songs.

Periphery, a progressive metalcore/djent band, has three guitarists, one of whom being Jake Bowen. For the song “The Price Is Wrong,” the band was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Metal Performance in 2016. Here’s an interesting fact: Jake Bowen is the nephew of Dream Theater guitarist John Petrucci. We bet most of you had no idea!
