It was only possible for Clare and her friends to realize that there were many more chaperones in the room than in recent years. In addition, many of the chaperones were the fathers of some students, and they were all staring down at all the girls walking from the balcony into the room. With what was happening, the girls were all beginning to feel uncomfortable.

It’s quite understandable that these girls all felt a little uncomfortable looking at them all night long with so many parents in the room. They also knew why they were there. They were all there to try to implement the dress code; they were all in the room to track the dresses of girls to make sure they weren’t too short.
