Delaware
Chemical manufacturing is important to the economy of Delaware. The state is home to one of the largest chemical manufacturers in the world, DuPont Co. Finance and business are also top industries, mostly due to low taxes and pro-business policies, which force so many companies to establish their headquarters here. Another wide sector is healthcare. Most of the top 25 employers are here. The University of Delaware, the state’s oldest and largest higher education institution, is one of two state research universities. The school has 182 advanced degree programs.
