Sadly, it did not look like any of the theories had been correct. In particular, there was a huge hint that hung in the air. No one knew why there were strange lines on the walls. What on earth could they be? It was actually the clue that helped them solve the mystery. Cyrex686 initially assumed that it was used for storage, but it did not seem right. It was a good thing that the truth dawned on him not long after that.

Why They Were There
He cracked the mystery wide open by figuring out that these markings were made by some kind of liquid. They were present in all the walls and indicated the changing levels of water! Cyrex686 wondered if it used to contain sewage. At any rate, this would explain why it did not have any entrance points. However, he was wrong to think that it was a sewer of some kind. It did contain water at some point, but it was used for a different purpose altogether.
