Slim Woman Get Called Fat
Media is one of the culprits behind all the negative body images that many girls and women have. We can blame movies at least partly. For one thing, Anne Hathaway is called “fat” in The Devil Wears Prada even though she can’t be further away from that. This can be damaging to young viewers. Love Actually is not safe from this brand of body shaming either. Martine McCutcheon played a character that was described as “plumpy” by her dad. In 2017, the star defended this when she spoke to Cosmopolitan. “Every woman thinks there’s something wrong with them when in actual fact… they are perfect and lovely as they are,” she said. “[Natalie] was meant to be the embodiment of that.”

Women Do Not Take Normal Showers
When you are taking a shower, you just want to get yourself clean after a long day. Why is it that movies show women as if they are aware that there are cameras around? These scenes are not often used to show that a woman looks after herself. Most of the time, they are just an excuse to show an actress nearly naked. A good example of this is Psycho, whose famous shower scene has been the topic of film analysis for decades on end. However, Janet Leigh had actually been wearing clothes when she shot this scene. “Because the cutting was so fast and accompanied by that music, you’re, like, ‘By God, I saw her nude,’” the actress informed a journalist by the name of Ed Gross in 1984.
