You probably did a double-take when you spotted director Michael Bay Coyote Ugly. The famous action film director appeared in a cameo in the movie as a photographer. He wasn’t really a part of the film crew, so we don’t really know why he played such a minor role. We guess he probably owed someone a favor, but it is also possible that he was used to having more big names attached to the film.

Two of his most acclaimed films were released just before and right after Coyote Ugly. One was the sci-fi film Armageddon, which came out in 1998 and starred major players Bruce Willis, Ben Affleck, Steve Buscemi, Liv Tyler, and other A-listers. The other one is the 2001 feature film Pearl Harbor, starring Ben Affleck and many more top celebrities. Also, Michael Bay directed the Transformers movies, the Bad Boys films, The Island, 6 Underground, and many other hits, which have made him one of the directors with the most commercial success in history.
