The Blues Brothers (1980)
A couple of years before introducing Trading Places to the world, John Landis blessed us with The Blues Brothers. Even though the main characters do not have a lot going for them, they are on a mission to reunite their rhythm and blues band to play a show and rescue their orphanage. Not only was the music great, but the lines were also unforgettable: “Orange whip, orange whip, orange whip,” “How much for that little girl?” and more! We can’t help but wonder how much the repairs for the cop cars cost. Let us not forget that Aretha Franklin, Carrie Fisher, and Ray Charles were also there!
Major League (1989)
Is it really great comedy if the movie does not come with memorable lines? Even though it was been 30 years since its release, we still like to quote this movie. “Are you trying to say Jesus Christ can’t hit a curve ball?” Let us not forget this other joke: “Heywood leads the league in most offensive categories, including nose hair. When this guy sneezes, he looks like a party flavor.” Major League was a great movie that follows the Cleveland Indians on its way to the playoffs. This was a comedic home run.
