Young Frankenstein (1974)
There are two Mel Brooks films on the list, and this is one of them. Young Frankenstein stars entertainment heavyweights like Peter Boyle, Gene Wilder, Teri Garr, and Cloris Leachman. This was a hilarious take on the horror genre and did an amazing job of paying tribute to the classics. This is the reason the movie was shot in black and white! To no one’s surprise, it has since earned a cult classic status and often tops all-time comedy lists such as this one.
National Lampoon’s Vacation (1983)
The Griswold family was introduced to viewers under the direction of Harold Ramis. Written by John Hughes, it stars Chevy Chase as Clark and Beverly D’Angelo as Ellen. The couple, together with their two kids, go through various misadventures as they made their way across the country to Wally World in their Family Truckster. It did great at the box-office and became the first in a franchise. Even though this is the case, we still think that the first one was the best and most beloved among the films in the series.
