Kelly Ripa
In southern New Jersey, Kelly Ripa grew up as a dancer. While attending Eastern Regional High School, the future soap opera star joined the cheerleading squad, shouting spirited sayings to the crowds. At college, she also took drama lessons. She was told to continue acting by her teacher, Jim Beckley, and she is probably pleased to have followed that advice.
Halle Berry
She was just Halle, from Bedford High School in Cleveland, OH, before becoming the first African-American to receive an Academy Award for Best Actress. Berry was a student role model, taking part in cheerleading, honors courses, and the school newspaper. She even won the Prom Queen, and somehow she somehow didn’t peak at high school.
